The 2023 (China) Eurasia Commodity and Trade Expo (EACT Expo), an important part of the China-Eurasia Expo, opened on August 17 in Urumqi, Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

The fair has attracted over 3,700 companies from 46 countries and regions. More than 50 forums and special events in the fields of trade, energy, technology, and culture have been organized to create broad opportunities for trade exchanges.

Xinjiang witnessed closer economic and trade exchanges with countries along the Belt and Road. The region saw its foreign trade volume near a decade high in the first half of 2023, coming in at 149.62 billion yuan ($20.9 billion), up 65.2 percent year-on-year.
